We’re always looking for database specialists with deep experience in MariaDB. This role focuses on designing, optimising, and maintaining high-performance database systems that power real-world applications. A background in Computer Science or a related field is typically required, along with experience managing complex data environments.
Architect, implement, and manage robust MariaDB databases for high-traffic, data-intensive applications.
Optimize query performance, indexing strategies, and storage engine configurations.
Collaborate with backend developers, DevOps engineers, and data analysts to design efficient, scalable schemas.
Implement advanced MariaDB features like dynamic columns, virtual columns, and JSON support.
Configure and maintain high-availability solutions, including replication and clustering.
Monitor and fine-tune database performance using diagnostic tools and custom metrics.
Apply best practices in security, encryption, and compliance for data protection.
Troubleshoot complex issues in real-time and recommend system-wide improvements.
Stay updated on MariaDB’s evolution and emerging tools in the ecosystem.
3+ years of experience in MariaDB or MySQL development and administration.
Deep understanding of relational database principles, normalization, and performance tuning.
Proven experience managing large datasets, high concurrency, and mission-critical systems.
Proficiency in database design, stored procedures, triggers, and complex SQL queries.
Familiarity with MariaDB-specific features such as ColumnStore, Spider engine, and Galera clustering.
Experience with monitoring tools (e.g., Percona Toolkit, MySQLTuner, or MariaDB Enterprise tools).
Ability to work closely with developers to integrate databases into full-stack systems.
Strong knowledge of backup strategies, disaster recovery, and data migration techniques.
As a MariaDB Developer, you’ll join a collaborative, multi-disciplinary team that values clean data architecture and scalable systems. You’ll work closely with software engineers, analysts, and product owners to ensure data integrity, security, and performance across projects.
