From journey maps to prototypes, UX Designers at Monkey & River play a key role in shaping digital products that make sense to real people. We look for designers with a strong grasp of user research, interaction design, and usability principles. A degree in design, psychology, human-computer interaction, or a related field is typically expected, along with hands-on experience designing end-to-end user experiences.
Conduct user research to identify pain points, behaviours, and opportunities.
Translate insights into user journeys, personas, and experience maps.
Design intuitive wireframes, interactive prototypes, and high-fidelity UI mockups.
Collaborate with UI designers, developers, and product managers to bring experiences to life.
Lead usability testing and iterate on designs based on user feedback and behaviour analytics.
Structure information in logical and user-friendly hierarchies.
Advocate for accessibility and inclusive design across all projects.
Help define UX best practices, design systems, and reusable components.
Present ideas clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Proven experience in UX design with a portfolio that showcases a strong understanding of user-centric design principles.
Proficiency in UX tools like Figma, Sketch, Adobe XD, or similar platforms.
Strong grasp of wireframing, prototyping, interaction design, and usability testing.
Experience conducting and synthesising user research.
Understanding of accessibility best practices and design for inclusivity.
Strong communication and collaboration skills.
A detail-oriented mindset paired with creative thinking and problem-solving ability.
A degree in UX Design, Human-Computer Interaction, Psychology, or a related field is preferred but not required, with strong portfolio evidence.
Experience designing for web applications, mobile apps, or complex user systems.
Familiarity with Agile workflows and design handoff processes.
Knowledge of front-end development basics (HTML, CSS, JavaScript) for better design-dev collaboration.
Comfort with tools like Miro, Maze, Hotjar, or Google Analytics for testing and research.
You’ll work alongside product managers, developers, and UI designers to craft solutions that are practical, intuitive, and grounded in real user behaviour. Our UX team runs workshops, conducts usability testing, and brings clarity to complexity. Collaboration is key, and your input will shape everything from features to flows.
